With all due respect sir, I would want you to note that Nigerians all went out to vote their Leaders during the general elections because they want a Better Change and not an agonizing Change!

However the fact is every Nigerian is gradually getting fed up with this administration and the strong confidence they once had in you is now growing weaker by the day! And the only antidote for these administrative illnesses is to first provide means for greater Food production [Food Security] so as to avert the ongoing food hike and scarcity in Nigeria. This is Security Number 1

Secondly, security of the Nigeria Populace is of great concern. There are more rogues, armed robbers, kidnappers, hoodlums and ritual killers now than that of last year and two years ago. And the solution to this is Job Security-Large numbers of young men and women should be recruited in the Army, Navy, Air force, Police, task Force, and other Governmental income generating revenue Corporations and Institutions. This is security number 2

Thirdly is the Non-Stop Power Supply we had been clamouring for since independence. Fix the constant power supply in Nigeria, and then you already fix the Better half of Nigeria!

This is both Social and industrial Security because with full constant energy in Nigeria, we can obtain an industrial Revolution that will bring about the birth of thousands of Industrialists amongst us within Nigeria. While the Nation will begin to achieve much more things with ease and speed. This is security number 3.

HOW TO BUILD AND EARN YOUR DREAM HOME FROM YOU PRESENT INCOME? [PT4]

SO HERE IS THE PLAN OF THIS MAN AS HE NARRATED;

1.     I came back home that day and sit up my wife and my much younger children to hold a crucial meeting for progress. And I broke the news to them that we will not be eating 3 times a day again o! it will be once or twice a day! Then my wife asked, ‘Hope all is well? Darling what is going on? Have you lost your Job? I replied immediately, ‘No, everything is alright! It’s just that I am angry at the rate at which we had been consuming and eating our duplex and mansion for a long time! I have come to tell us that we are to cooperate together to build our own house in this Lagos before it’s too late. So in the light of that, no more weekend outings, no more weekend shopping, no more over spending, in fact we will be on budget and when the stipulated amount is exhausted, we will wait till the following month. It was easy to say, but it wasn’t easy to experience. But I have no choice even though my earning was not much.

2.     So I began to contribute [saving with thrift society] at least N10,000 each month  with the purpose of collecting it at the end of the year. And at the end of the year I was able to raise some hundreds of thousands of Naira to pay installment payment for a land property at igando, Lagos. Though it wasn’t easy but I have to do it! However it dawn on me that if you are determined to do anything, nothing in this world can stop you.

3.     Though the contribution still continues so as to pay the remaining balance of the land, yet I was removing some percentage from my earnings to buy Blocks. Sometimes I buy N1000 [one thousand Naira] Blocks when a block was N50, so I could buy and move 20 pieces of blocks to the site. Sometimes when I receive a cash gift, they will all go for Blocks, just making sure that 10 blocks, 20 blocks, 40 blocks or 100 blocks are being moved into the site every week and before long, we had enough blocks to complete 4 units of 3bedroom flats.  And while we await the Building start-up, I was using the land for farming so it was easy to start the house foundation.

4.     You must understand that immediately you made up your mind to sacrifice for any project, you will be pushed to sacrifice more and more just to see the fulfillment of that project come to pass. We had no choice but to sacrifice the expensive school fee of our children for a low paying one. I even further instructed my wife that whenever she wants to serve me food, the fish or meat must not be more than one! It was that serious!

5.     Get involved in all the building process with your family so as to cut cost of man power. Whenever we were building, I, my wife, my children and some of my relatives will come to join in assisting the experts in the building process. It was a sweet adventure indeed! Just anything is possible. Just like Dr. David Oyedepo would say, ‘if you think enough, what you have is enough’.

6.     All the house materials were being bought one after the other, one by one, little by little and as we approach the roofing stage, I told the team that we are holding on to recoup fund. So it was and in six months time we had gathered some measurable amount that could pay for the roofing but I must say in all the building there was an invisible hand that was providing for the project. It just reminds me of an author that said, ‘when you desire and determined to get anything, even the universe will conspire to support the goal or cause’.

7.     if you truly want anything, it will show in your actions and moves. It will be paramount in your heart. If it does not move you, then you are not yet ready. The building of my own house got deep into me that all I could think and do was the house project. Every calls, moves, meetings and working were for the housing project. I was absolutely emotional about it as well as serious to see it manifested in reality. And today it stands as a Testimony and a success story for all to do likewise. It was that half-schooled gate man that I, a graduate of Economics got it from and I implemented it and got the same result. You too can get the same result if you so choose to plug yourself into it.

8.     Today the house is completed; I and my family are living in one of the 3bed room flat while the remaining 3 units of 3 bed room flats are being occupied by tenants and am being paid on yearly basis. Today we can eat as much as we want, go shopping whenever we want to, live well with rest of mind and send our children to the best school in town. It was a price we paid so we are qualified to enjoy the prizes! Of which you too can enjoy as well, irrespective of where you work or what you earn.

While there were sadness and frowning on the face of almost everyone, there were joy and smiles on the face of the old gateman. The gladness and smiles were too much to ignore that I have to ask him, ‘Baba, it seems you were not affected?’  He put his hands in his pocket and brought it out and said ‘this is my sack letter’. Then I ask,’ why are you looking strange when this is not a promotion letter’. The Gateman [security man] Laughed and said, I thank God that I am retiring to my OWN HOUSE and that I HAD MADE GOOD USE OF MY TIME HERE! It first sound like I was dreaming but it was reality. I asked, ‘How?’ He smiled and said I was contributing part of my salary on thrift society [osusu] and when the money was big enough to acquire land around cheap Areas, I bought a full plot. And since then whatever I earn is divided into two. One part for my family while the other part goes to buying 10 0r 30 blocks and 2 or 3 bags of cement. Little by little I was building the 3Bedroom apartment. I, my wife and children will be the labourers of the day whenever am off from work. I thank God that it was roofed just last month. So I will not need to pay for rent anymore!

I stood there dazed and amazed at what I just heard and experienced! Here is a top Director earning a comfortable six figured salary crying due to nothing to fall back on [investment] while a security man whose salary is less than one-tenth of the director’s salary, is jumping with joy because he had something to fall back on. That day I took a chair and sat down to meditate on what just transpired. Then I made up my mind that I will certainly build my own house because it’s not the amount of salary you earn that determine you owning a property but the heart and desire to own a property of your own at all cost. It is commitment and discipline toward the realization of your goal that really count.

A friend of mine told me a story last week about his behavior in investing in real estate. He said; ‘I was once called to buy landed property at Alake Idimu axis [Alimosho LGA, Lagos State] as at 2006 and a plot just cost N600,000 but I declined and felt there was no need to invest in such sector being that I had  vast experience in stock exchange market. However the market was booming and I felt I could raise twice the amount in a month from the market, so there is no need to invest in any landed property. Furthermore with much persuasion from this seller who is also a friend, I decided to buy 2 plots. Before going to pay for the land, I called a friend to confirm the worthiness of Land investment and the friend I called refuted the idea and asked me to withdraw so as not to involve in diabolical brawls with all these western people from Nigeria and he started telling me stories of how young successful people had bought lands in the past and eventually lost their lives. So with all these tales of fear, I was griped with fear and doubts and I decided not to buy again.

Be that as it may, the fortunate buyer of that land then still possess the land up till today and guess what? The Land now worth N10,000,000 [Ten Million Naira]. Though it was painful but I learnt my lessons not to trust people’s judgment and not to adhere to fear but trust in the veracity of the Land, experts advise and the brighter future of real estate sector in Nigeira. I truly regretted my actions and its one I will not want to repeat. And the funny thing is that after the market crash, we were all looking for other business and investment to hold onto but I later discovered that this same friend who dissuaded me from buying already had properties in Igando and ikorodu. I just felt like a fool, I mean a big fool!
